Duty Calls (Case 3) - Page 3 Empty Re: Duty Calls (Case 3)

Alfred almost found it charming how Arthur always insisted on helping with the dishes. He waited patiently for him on the stairway landing playing with one of the pictures on the wall straightening it. When he saw him coming from the corner of his eye he pretended not to notice then give him a quick hug when he was close enough.

They headed up to bed and Alfred yawned as he stretched his arms out wearing boxers and a loose white shirt for pajamas. He was just fixing to fall back onto the floor mattress when Arthur kicked it under the bed. HE caught himself and leaned against the railing of the bed confused for a moment. Then he broke out into a very big smile. "Arthur..do you really mean it?" He asks but before he can get a answer he is hugging Arthur once more, tightly this time. It takes him a moment to remember himself though as he backs off a little not wanting to hurt the man. "Ah sorry, I guess I got a little excited." He gives a laugh but sits down on the edge of the bed then. "Let's..go to bed together then." He says holding a hand out for Arthur. The prospect of just being able to hold Arthur as he slept was a relief in itself but that Arthur was trusting him once more made Alfred even happier.

He eventually curls up on his side of the bed pulling the sheets up close and drapping one arm across Arthur's hip. Not pulling him too close but being able to feel his presence and be protective almost. He does snuggles his forehead up against the top of Arthur's head though, brushing a kiss into his hair as he closes his eyes. "Goodnight, Arthur."

The feeling of relief that washed over Arthur at the sight of Alfred's true, happy smile was so great that he went a little bit weak at the knees. Maybe he wouldn't continue to hurt and upset Alfred despite all he tried. Maybe he could make Alfred happy after all. Maybe he could make Alfred continue to smile like that. It was with that thought in mind that he allowed himself to be led to the bed and tucked in beside Alfred.

"Good night," he whispered. Even after Alfred fell asleep, Arthur continued to lay awake, attempting to not read too deeply into the position of Alfred's hand. At first it had rested on his waist, then it had gradually drifted down to drape over his hip. Now though, it was quite obviously on his arse.  He knew that he had a tendency to jump to conclusions and he forced himself to suppress the initial instinct to smack Alfred awake rudely and demand an explanation. Alfred was obviously asleep and had no idea what he was doing. Of course.

Then the hand squeezed his arse and Arthur froze, muffling a small sound. "Alfred," he whispered furiously, knowing that the other man was asleep but feeling better by venting anyway, "remove your hand from my arse this instant! Honestly, of all the cheeky, insufferable things to do...!"

As he continued to rant, he felt the hand sliding upwards again, leaving his skin tingling where it had been touched through the material of his pyjamas. Finally the hand seemed to settle on the small of Arthur's back, a position that caused Arthur's words to trail off as he felt strangely comforted. Arthur finally relaxed, hesitating before shyly half-tangling his legs with Alfred and closing his eyes, willing himself to sleep.

Alfred wakes up the next morning feeling more rested than he's been in a long time. He can't quite remember what he dreamt of but he figures it must have been something good. He wakes up finding himself rather sprawled out as usual but he's still managed to keep one arm around Arthur the whole night. He lays there awake not wanting to spoil the lovely night by getting up but he knows that he has to eventually.

That is when he hears the door open. He quickly closes his eyes and pretends to be asleep once more. He hears footsteps quietly cross the room then his mother's voice. "How sweet...I'll let them rest then." And the footsteps recede once more, the door giving a click as it closes behind his mother as she leaves.

Alfred let's out a breath he seems to have been holding and sighs happily, turning slightly so that he can wrap his other arm around Arthur as well. "Should we get up?" He asks in a very low, sleep ridden voice. Surely Arthur is waking up by now, what with all the movement Alfred just incited and the morning light peeking through his curtains.

Arthur mumbled something unintelligible and buried his face against the pillow sleepily. Staying up late worrying about and over-thinking things really was a bad trait, he thought slowly as he began to wake up. He could feel Alfred's arms around him but instead of feeling threatened Arthur only felt safe. He was so sleepy though...

He found himself dozing off again without meaning to. Soon enough he roused himself though, knowing that they couldn't just sleep the day away. Besides, Alfred had mentioned wanting to do something special today. With a quiet sigh Arthur rolled out of bed and and stumbled over to his suitcase to collect what he needed for his morning routine. He started towards the bedroom door and almost tripped down the first few steps with a shocked squeak before backtracking and Almost shyly pressing a sleepy kiss to Alfred's lips.

"Good morning," he mumbled as he stifled a yawn and headed to the bathroom. Soon enough he was dressed and awake. He made the bed and tidied up a bit as he waited for Alfred to finish up. "What did you want to do today?" he asked curiously, sitting down on the bed. The air between them seemed much more relaxed now that they had started talking things over.

When Alfred feels Arthur slip out of his arms and get out of bed he knows that it must be time to get up for real. He sits up and stretches and is almost taken by surprise at Arthur's sudden goodmorning kiss. He gives a light peck back with a low happy sound and stands gathering some clothes up to put on. He takes his time rather drowsy still and when he turns around finish he finds that Arthur has already made the bed and straightened up the room.

He gives a amused grin and goes over to the closet dragging out a dusty old backpack that still had traces of dirt on it. "We used to do this all the time during the fall when me and Mattie were kids. We'd go camping in the fields across the street." He explains. "I'd really like the chance to do that with you while we're here." He seems to become almost shy and goes to emptying out the old backpack. He turns up upside down and a water can, a large sleeping bag, and other assorted objects fall out.

"It's really cool too." Alfred continues and he is clearly talking about something he loves. "We hike over to this really pretty place and we can fish and climb trees and build a little fire for marshmellows and when it gets dark you can see every star for miles."

Arthur eyed the dirty pack dubiously. The items that fell out were all dusty and the water canister was no doubt rusted. Arthur's first instinct was to reject the suggestion entirely, but Alfred's wide smile and obvious enthusiasm stopped him from doing so. The American had only just regained his smile and Arthur refused to be the one to make it disappear once again. "That sounds... wonderful," he said tentatively, trying to inject a suitable amount of enthusiasm into his voice. "I'm sure it will be... fun."

Truth be told, Arthur absolutely despised camping. As a child, he'd never had a good camping experience. His brothers had repeatedly gotten him lost in the woods or tricked him into touching stinging nettles or poison ivy. As a result Arthur had developed quite a good sense of direction when wandering around in the woods and a wide knowledge of the plants growing there. Of course the plants growing here would be different to those that had grown back in England, though, and Arthur still had never overcome his aversion to camping.

Fishing and climbing trees and building camp fires didn't really sound too good, either. He wasn't sure about Alfred, but Arthur didn't feel quite recovered enough to be running around and exerting himself to such an extent. Still, Alfred seemed so excited to be sharing another part of himself with Arthur, and Arthur himself was more than happy to learn more about his boyfriend.

"When should we leave?" he asked, crouching down and picking up the fallen items to occupy his hands.

Alfred didn't expect Arthur to be as excited about it as he was but he was glad that the other man showed at least some interest. He would show Arthur just how amazing it would be. He picked up the things from his pack with Arthur's help and returned them to their proper place.

"We can leave as soon as we're ready." Alfred says throwing some extra clothes into the bag as well. "Do you have a bag you can take with you, or do you need to borrow one of mine?" He asks as he haphazardly throws a pair of shoes into his bag.

One all packed he leads them downstairs. As soon as his mother see's that old bag she knows what he's doing. "Ah, so no time for breakfast then?" She asks taking a plastic bag out of the drawer and putting a few sausages in it for the boys. She tucks it lovely into a flap on Alfred's bag. "I can't have you boy's starving." She says with a knowing smile. She gives them both a quick hug. "The fishing poles and things are still out in the shed were they always are dearie." Alfred fills up his water jug and heads outside. It's still before noon but the sun it up and it makes the day rather nice and warm.

In the shed Alfred finds two poles and attaches them to his baga, along with various other things he thinks they might need. He also stumbles upon a worn old hat hanging on a hook in the shed. He pulls it down and pats the dust off it giving it a quiet look, an unknown wrinkle appearing in his forehead. A stitching on the inside of it reads 'Dad'. He puts it on with the bill of the cap facing backwards and closes the shed door. He looks at Arthur excitedly. "Alright, ready to go?!"

Arthur's pack straps were digging into his shoulders uncomfortably and his clothes were beginning to stick to his back with sweat but he continued to follow Alfred wearily. They hadn't been walking for very long at all but Arthur was already beginning to feel rather overheated. Even though he'd been here for a while he was still more used to English weather which was much cooler.

Still, he didn't want to complain and spoil Alfred's good mood. Arthur quietly continued trudging through the long grass, pausing every now and then to adjust his bag straps. He really hated hiking and camping. He hated it.

His water canister was hot to the touch and when Arthur unscrewed it to take a sip it tasted warm and metallic. He tucked the canister away and stopped, peeling his sweater vest off and leaving himself in his long-sleeved button-up shirt. He still felt too warm but struggled to put his pack back on and continue.

Duty Calls (Case 3) - Page 3 Empty Re: Duty Calls (Case 3)

Alfred led the way across to the fields near his home. The grass and crops were tall by this season and some even towered near Alfred's height.

Alfred himself felt great getting outside in the fresh air and moving his body in ways that he hadn't got to in awhile. They had crossed two fields when he stops to take a break and get his bearing about which direction they should continue on. He looked back at Arthur surprised to see him looking worn out already even if he slightly liked the disheveled look on his boyfriend. He gave him a pat on the shoulder and offered him his own water can. "You okay?" He asks a worried flicker in his expression. H wasn't pushing the other too hard was he? "We'll be able to sit down in a moment. We're almost at the first place."

He adjusts his own pack and begins moving again and he is true to his word, the fields give way to slightly more rocky ground and the air is cooler and moist. Alfred points to a large rock jutting out of the ground like a shelf right by the bank of a small moving creek. He runs the last few yards to it and drops his pack on the ground looking out at the water smiling brilliantly. "We can stop and fish here and then a little ways down is where we can spend the night." He gives a large relaxed sigh before sitting down and getting out one of the fishing poles and slowly working on stringing it, his hands careful and concentrated.

Arthur drooped as he stumbled the last little distance into the shade. The rock ledge felt cool against the back of his thighs as moisture began to seep through the fabric of his trousers. His head was pounding and he closed his eyes as he rested his head against Alfred's shoulder. Everything felt too hot and humid and he felt that he was going to wilt.

He had never been able to handle heat too well. Arthur's face was flushed bright red and his skin felt hot and sweaty. Alfred's voice was rumbling in his ears but he couldn't really understand what was being said. He shook his head weakly but immediately regretted it when the slight movement caused a wave of dizziness to wash over him.

Dimly, he realised that his pack was still weighing him down backwards and he fumbled with the straps to try and take it off. Each movement made his head hurt and Arthur pressed his forehead against Alfred's shoulder weakly. He scrabbled blindly for his water canister and took a long moment to remember how to screw the lid off and sip at it, only to have his stomach roll at the taste of the metallic, over-heated water. Still, he didn't want to complain. Alfred had wanted to have fun.

Alfred felt Arthur leaning heavily against him, he felt rather warm, even for being outside hiking like they had. He set down his now lined fishing pole and turned to the man next to him running a hand across his forehead and wiping away some of the sweat there as well.

"Hey,..Arthur are you okay?" He asks once more holding his boyfriends steady. "You don't look so well." He frowned and rummages through his backpack for a moment before pulling out a cooling pack. He rests it against Arthur's cheek trying to cool him down. "You can lay down if you want on the rock..Gosh I..I didn't know have such a hard time out here. I'm sorry." He moves to make room for Arthur on the large cool rock, getting down on his knees to help steady him some more. "Do you need anything. I can get us some more water, I have some crackers in my pack."

He looked worried, what if they had to turn back and go home. Their little trip would be ruined but Alfred didn't want to drag Arthur along further if he was going to be sick. That would only harm him more.

Arthur let out a quiet moan of relief as the cold pack was pressed against his cheek. He didn't resist as he was repositioned on the rock slab with his head pillowed in Alfred's lap. The coolness felt absolutely wonderful and Arthur's relieved moans continued as he grasped Alfred's wrist weakly, moving the cold pack and pressing it to different parts of his overheated skin. Not only did the cold pack help to cool him down, it also helped to numb his headache when pressed against his forehead.

"I'm... All right," he slurred slightly, his eyelids fluttering as he pressed the cold pack to the hollow between his collar bones. "'s just the heat... Too hot... Just need to rest..." Arthur weakly pushed the American's fingers under the collar of his shirt so that the cold pack was pressed against his chest. "You should... fishing..."

He didn't want to ruin the outing. Arthur stubbornly tried to sit up but the motion left his head spinning so he remained lying down with his head in Alfred's lap with the cold pack draped across his forehead. It continued to coax tiny, relieved moans from him as he tangled his fingers in Alfred's shirt and held on weakly.

Alfred was glad that some relief seemed to come to Arthur when he had the cold pack held against his skin although the places Alfred found himself inadvertently touching made himself flush slightly. He hoped that the heat would hide that fact. He couldn't let himself get distracted like that, not here, not now, not when Arthur had freaked out last time he put his hands on him like that. Alfred was not about to mess what little peace they had found up.

He allowed Arthur to hold onto one of his hands and whatever else he reached for leaning over to place a small peck to his forehead. "Just rest here. I'll catch us some dinner and then we can move on alright?" He says quietly. "And if you need me I'm right here just speak up, okay?" With that Alfred tries to go back to picking up his fishing pole and casting it ino the water but it was rather awkward with Arthur in his lap and one of his hands occupied. Still he didn't say anything about being bothered, having Arthur there was enough.

He finally got situated though and things fell quiet as he watched the water and glanced at Arthur every now and then making sure he was alright. He still felt guilty for bringing him out there.

It was sometime later that he felt a tug on his line and he glanced up excitedly, tugging right back on the line lightly, hand on the reel. "Arthur! Arthur!" He says in a hushed but excited voice. "I think I got something!"

Arthur drowsed as he began to cool down. He could hear Alfred's soft murmuring and the sound of the water running but focused only on the relief that the cold pack brought him and the feeling of Alfred's hand in his. Every now and then he would rouse and take a sip of water, and soon enough his stomach was settled enough to allow him to down an entire cracker.

Still he continued to lie still with his head in Alfred's lap, eyes tightly closed. He had to admit that even though he didn't feel all that well Alfred had definitely chosen a nice spot to stop. Gradually, he recovered enough to sit up but continued to lean against the other man exhaustedly, taking sips of heated water every now and then.

Arthur sat up, startled, when Alfred began to call his name excitedly. He blinked tiredly but quickly roused himself when he caught sight of the taut fishing line. "Well done," he said, a small, impressed smile gracing his lips. As the fish was pulled up out of the water though, his smile turned into an amused half-smirk. "You'd best catch another if you intend to cook them for dinner, though," he added, gesturing at the tiny fish and stifling a chuckle.

Alfred relaxed a little more as he felt Arthur sitting up. He was glad that the other man was starting to feel better. Maybe the entire trip hadn't been for naught yet. He even knew Arthur was back to his old self when he poked fun at the fish he had caught.

Alfred nudges him gently but looked amused himself. "Aw, don't worry. A dozen of these and we'll have ourselves fish sticks." He jokes unhooking the small fish and putting him into a bucket full of water sitting beside the rock ready and waiting before he cast his line out once more. He raps on arm around Arthur's waist protectively sitting there enjoying the time with just the two of them alone.

"Oh hey! Do you wanna try your hand at it now?' He asks remembering the other pole they have with them. "Maybe you'll have a little better luck than me. Who knows you might reel in the big one of the night!" He encourages stinging up the other device and holding it out to Arthur. He watches him carefully for a reaction. If Arthur didn't want to do it, Alfred certainly wasn't going to make him.

Duty Calls (Case 3) - Page 3 Empty Re: Duty Calls (Case 3)

Arthur eyed the fishing rod dubiously but accepted it. It wasn't that he didn't know how to fish -- he did know how to, at least in theory. His brothers had never really allowed him to touch their precious fishing rods though, and his parents hadn't seen the need to splurge on another fishing rod if the boys already had a few to share. He fiddled with the reel for a moment before closely watching Alfred cast his line and clumsily attempting to mimic the action.

His first attempt to cast left him with his hook tangled in a bush some five metres behind them. Arthur blushed furiously and mumbled under his breath as he attempted to free his line from the bush. His struggles resulted in several pricks to his fingers before finally yielding his freed line. Embarrassed, he sat back down and attempted to cast his line again.

Twice, he got his line caught in some rocks right below the ledge they were seated on. Both times, it was a struggle to free the line and he was lucky to not have to cut it. Arthur scowled, his face red with embarrassment and frustration.  "This is utterly ridiculous!" he exclaimed finally, dropping his fishing rod and crossing his arms over his chest.

Alfred had to try very hard not to let his amusement at Arthur's attempts show by covering his hand to hide the snickers and looking away. Finally when Arthur seemed to give up be picks up the rode again and puts it back in his hands, this time he moves to sit behind Arthur and holds his own hands over Arthur's trying to show him how to cast it properly. "It just takes some practice, come on." He encourages.

They sit there for a while like that, Alfred not letting go of Arthur's hand even once he manages to get the line in the water below. He settles his chin on Arthur's shoulder, there is nothing to suggest these touches would lead to something else it was just Alfred not willing to let the space grow between them again.

Finally after a moment the line has a tug and Alfred sits up straight excitedly. "Oh I think we've got one! Do you want to reel it in yourself or do you want my help?" He asks Arthur letting his hands go slack a bit if Arthur wanted to try on his own.

Arthur was too irritated by Alfred's not-so-subtle snickers to really notice the way that they were pressed together in a slightly embarrassing way. Instead he concentrated on redeeming himself by waiting patiently but attentively, never taking his eyes off the line. It was supposed to go taut when there was a fish on the end of it, right? And then all he had to do was reel the fish in. He could definitely do it!

There was a tug on the line and Arthur scrambled up onto his knees, beginning to reel it in madly. "I can do it!" he insisted. He'd redeem himself. Of course he could do it. He was still embarrassed at his failures at casting the line earlier but now it would all be fine. He'd catch a larger fish than Alfred had, that was for sure! It was very heavy, and Arthur had to wonder just how big the fish was.

Finally it popped up out of the water and swung up, almost smacking Arthur in the face. "... this is absolute bullocks," he hissed as he eyed the piece of wood dangling from the line. "This is absolute bullocks! I refuse to partake in this ridiculous venture any longer!" He had never been so embarrassed in front of Alfred before. His entire face was red and he scowled darkly, trying to hide his disappointment and frustration. Couldn't he do anything at all?

Alfred has to bite his tongue hard this time to keep from bursting out into laughter at the wood popping up from water. He tries his best though to comfort and push away that look of defeat on his poor boyfriend's face by wrapping his arms around him and pulling him close again away from the rest of the world. "Aw it's not that bad everyone has their off days. Even I've caught my share of driftwood in the past."

"Try again...please. For me." Alfred says handing the pole back to Arthur once more and doing his best to look hopeful. "All it takes it a little practice. If you give up now you'll never know." He adds seriously leaning over and giving him a peck on the temple of his forehead.

"Piss off," he muttered acidly, but Arthur reluctantly took hold of the fishing rod once again. He knew that Alfred was laughing at him, but couldn't really bring himself to be angry. He was offended, yes, but he wasn't angry about it. Besides, this trip was for Alfred. If Alfred wanted him to have another go... Well, Arthur would just have to buck up and give it another shot!

It took him a while, but eventually he managed to catch something. It wasn't anything to be proud of, being only slightly bigger than the first one Alfred had caught. He glanced enviously at the bucket of sizeable fish that had been caught by Alfred.

"I'm tired," he mumbled finally, not casting his line again. Being so frustrated was really quite draining. Arthur sighed and leaned his head against Alfred's shoulder, closing his eyes.

Alfred encouraged him the whole time and eventually picked up his own rod again and they sat side by side for a while just fishing. Alfred eventually caught the rest of their dinner and when Arthur caught his own first fish he congratulated him with a hearty slap on the back. "See, I knew you could do it!" He insists. "You'll only get better from there."

When Arthur lays his head on his shoulder he knows that it is time to start moving on though. A look at the sky shows that the sun is starting on it;s way down as well. He runs a free hand through Arthur's hair. "Let's get going then. We've still got a little ways to go and then we need to cook dinner and set up camp."

He packs up the fishing things into his bag, and puts everything into place even securing the bucket of fswh to the backpack with a cover over it. It makes a funny sloshing sound but Alfred only finds it amusing. When he's all ready he does his best to help Arthur out with his own things. The man really does look a bit tired and he doesn't want to overwork him. Otherwise he's bee too tired for the really good part of camping later. "I'll carry some of your stuff if you want." Alfred offers going so far as to even jokingly suggest carrying Arthur as well.

"You most certainly will not," Arthur said, shouldering his own pack stubbornly. He refused to be inferior to the other man, even if he was absolutely useless at fishing. He just hadn't really tried his hand at these sorts of things in the past! "I can do it myself."

He wearily trudged along behind Alfred, but at least it wasn't so hot now. With the sun going down, everything was beginning to cool off and Arthur no longer felt so overheated. He had little trouble keeping up this time, though he was still awfully embarrassed about how frail he'd appeared to be earlier.

At last they reached the place that Alfred deemed to be the perfect camp site. Arthur set himself the task of setting up the tent, reasoning that although he couldn't do any of the other camping activities, he could definitely figure out how to get the shelter up. After twenty minutes, though, the canvas was still in a wrinkled pile on the ground and Arthur was kicking at it in frustration. Why couldn't he do anything at all today? This was absolutely ridiculous!

"Bloody fucking hell!" With a loud, irritated huff he gave the tent one last kick, managed to stub his toe against something hard and stalked away from the camp site and into the adjoining woods, intent on gathering firewood. Surely that was something that even he couldn't mess up.

Duty Calls (Case 3) - Page 3 Empty Re: Duty Calls (Case 3)

Alfred certainly didn't mean anything demeaning by offering help to Arthur he was only trying to be well..helpful. He kept a close eye on Arthur on the way there and was happy to find that the man was doing much better this time.

He lead them out of the woods and into a clearing area with a wide open view of the sky. He set their stuff down a few yards from the trees and started getting to work. He was curious at Arthur's offer to pitch the tent, a phrase he had to hide snickering at once more, but let him at it. Alfred himself went to getting their dinner ready. He cleared a small area for their fire and cleaned up the fish they had caught. When he was done he turned around to find Arthur shouting yet again and stomping off away from the still not together tent.

He gives a small smile and puts what he's doing down for the moment, as they need a fire before he can cook them anyways and goes to mess with the tent. Arthur seems to have done a right job of tangling things up but he has some of it in the right place. If he had let Alfred help him they probably would have gotten it done faster together. He relents though and finishes putting up the tent. It's a rather nice one, plenty of room and the top is netted so that bugs can't get in but you can still see the sky.

When he finishes he walks over to peek into the woods to check on Arthur. "Hey...Artie..you in there still?" He gives a call out for his boyfriend. He hadn't gotten lost has he? A sudden spike of panic shoots through Alfred's spine and he quickly steps ahead a few more paces and looks around hurriedly.

Duty Calls (Case 3) - Page 3 Empty Re: Duty Calls (Case 3)

It was sort of nostalgic -- but not in a good way -- to be standing in the middle of the woods, alone. How many times had he been left on his own in such a place, to struggle back and find his parents? His brothers had been so mean back then. At least Scott was semi-decent now. Sort of. But at least this time, Arthur knew that if he was gone for too long, Alfred would come looking for him. Alfred wouldn't be too busy with other things, and Alfred would never purposefully leave him in the middle of nowhere.

As if on cue, Arthur could hear shouting. Alfred was looking for him. "I'm here," he called out, stepping towards the sound of the other man's voice. "I'm right here." Being somewhere completely still and quiet had calmed him somewhat, and he felt ready to face his embarrassment and return to the camp site.

As he reached Alfred's side, he quietly took the American's hand and continued on towards the tent. "What can I help with?" he asked quietly, glancing around. He hadn't managed to gather much firewood, either, so he dumped his meagre armful of twigs onto the ground in front of the tent and sat down on a nearby rock. "Do you want me to cook the fish?"

Alfred feels a flood of relief as he hears Arthur's response and he gives a relaxed sigh. He gives Arthur's hand a squeeze as if to say that he was glad that he was back where Alfred could see him.

He sits them both down around the space for the fire and Arthur may not have brought back enough wood but what he has is wonderful for kindling and starting the whole thing up. Alfred crotches over the spot playing with a set of matches retrieved from his backpack. It is much like how he and Matthew lite he bonefire in their backyard only a smaller version. He stiffens up at the mention of Arthur cooking their dinner but gets an idea he thinks will work out greatly.

He turns to Arthur once he's gotten a tiny fire going. "Hey, could you go get the marsmellows and stuff from my backpack. You can cook those for us, you know how to make smores right? I"ll work on dinner you work on dessert?" He offers as he gathers up some rocks to ring around the fire and some wire sticks to put the fish on and roast them.

Yes it's looking like a good start to a good night. Nice food, nice weather, nice company. Alfred can almost sigh dreamily. This is something he had always dreamed of doing with his significant other one day and now it was coming true.
