The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

Post by King of Spades Tue May 31, 2011 11:09 am

The little Prince was always the first who arrived at the kindergarten on Rainbow Street. His Mama would always take him there really early in the morning when he was still sleepy. He would always arrive with eyes halfway closed and clinging to his mother, the Queen. She would gently place him down and straightened his royal blue coat and the dress underneath so that his bloomers wouldn't show up too much. Then, she would put a tiny golden crown on his head and smile.

After that the little Prince would be sitting by the window, watching his mother walk off without looking back.

Alfie was still looking out the window even though his mother was long out of sight. He was a brave little man, the bravest of all, so he didn't cry. He simply pinched his chubby, rosy cheeks to prevent himself from sobbing, even though the corners of his lips were quivering.

Then the bell rang and his little face brightened, his baby blue eyes shone with excitement. Someone else had arrived. He scrambled down the windowsill, his short legs dangled in the air but he refused to get help from Miss Elizabeta, cause he was a strong little man, he said. He could easily fight a dragon, so he definitely didn't need help climbing down.

His little feet couldn't carry him very quickly but he was still determined to reach the door as quick as possible. "My fwiends are comin'!"

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

The little Angel did not want to leave the warmth of the clouds. Even if he was told time and again that this was an important step for him. Although he did look forward to seeing some of his classmates again, living so far away from each other this was the only chance he got. Even if some of them had a little too much fun teasing him at times. Every time without fail he was always shy, but once the day wore on he became more open and relaxed. It was his pattern and the older angels found it amusing.

He was currently on his way, a full grown angel flying him down to the school, he was cradled safely in her arms. He watched with sparkles in his eyes as he witnessed the beautiful grace of flying and longed to experience it himself. Despite all of his valiant efforts he hadn’t made much progress in that department. When they reached the school he was gently placed down with a pat on the head and the promise of another flying lesson if he was good. Despite not having real parents the little angel clung to the older caretaker always afraid of being left behind. The other merely lifted him up again wiping a few tears that had managed to spill over.

“Don’t cry little one no one will hurt you. You have to make sure to grow up strong and kind so that you can help lots of people. Don’t you want to do that?” He didn’t trust himself to speak so he merely nodded putting on a brave face. As he was set down again he made sure to straighten out his toga as the angel above him rang the bell. It seemed in a matter of moments it was opening and he was faced with the future king, his eyes full of excitement and curiosity. The little angel smiled shyly as he was pushed into the room by his caretaker who waved as she flew off into the air.

“H-hello pwince. How a-are you today?” He managed to get out still shy but feeling the need to be courteous. His small wings fluttered in nervousness.

(( I hope this is okay since I wasn’t on the list for this RP, but if it’s not I’ll delete. ^^; ))

Arthur didn't like this. He didn't like this at all. It smelled like hand-soap in this room and plastic and dirty carpets and his aunt's house where the dog always tried to bite him and she had those awful cousins that screamed. That's why he was hiding behind the plastic pirate-jungle set, doing his spelling homework for the next three weeks. Yesterday, during lunch, a scrawny little ginger called him fat. Arthur scowled in distaste, drawing a wobbly cat on the margins of his spelling book. He wasn't fat.

Not that fat. Maybe a little tubby. But not like that kid had made him seem! That wasn't fair. It all wasn't fair. He turned and peered at the other children through two vivid green palm trees from which pirate monkeys hung. Two round little fingers pushed aside a particularly angry pirate monkey to glare at them. He'd show them. He'd get the gold star during Spelling today and they'd all pay for calling him fat.

Arthur always got dropped off half an hour earlier than the other children because his mum worked at a hospital, early shift, and had to take him to work. His father was a very important man in a company somewhere -- Arthur could never remember where -- and was often off. Therefore, the surly little boy had taken to claiming the play area as his early-morning fort.

The pirate monkey swung back down as the fingers released it, letting out a screech as a song about bananas came on. Arthur ignored it, studying heartily. H-O-U-S-E. House.

The wizard in training (that was what he called himself, because yes he could do magic thank you) couldn't believe his mum was bringing him to a muggle kindergarten. There had been concerns of course, he had heard dad say he could magic without realising it and hurt someone. Why would he hurt someone, he had wondered to himself. Why did dad not think him capable of doing magic perfectly?

He could! Mum said so, "Don't worry, our grown up wizard is perfectly capable of looking after himself! Aren't you Arthur?" She had said, smiling brightly. This had made him extremely proud, and he had nodded vigorously in reply

So here they were, him and mum, at the kindergarten. She had been holding onto his hand until she leant down and gave him a hug. "Now my dear, what do wizards not do?" She had asked with a smile and straightened the small cloak he had begged to wear.

"They dow't use magik in fwont of muggles or to hurt anyone!" He replied, looking quite serious. Mum had laughed and said her goodbyes, then he was left in the room, looking around quite nervously for new friends.

Post by Queen of Spades Tue May 31, 2011 1:03 pm

At this time the future Queen was just a little boy that belonged to a very rich family. He was disgruntled and scrawny due to his brothers constant teasing about his inability to do anything "manly". He was set down in front of the door by his mother who was frantically trying to brush out his unruly hair. Failing, she patted him on the head.

"Be a good dear, Arthur, and don't bite anyone who calls you a girl. Please." Arthur scowled, because he knew it was true. He had round cheeks and long eyelashes, and his mother found it oh-so-cute to dress him in frilly shirts that were too long and covered his little shorts. He was a 'dainty' boy as his mother said, and a 'sissy' according to his brothers.

Arthur tottered in, refusing to kiss his mother goodbye because he was still angry about the dress-shirt, and met up with the others.

Post by Lord Arthur Kirkland Tue May 31, 2011 2:18 pm

Despite what his mother said, young Lord Arthur Kirkland was a privateer! He was old enough to be called a lord after his father died, so he was old enough to work for his country and fight those nasty French. Of course, Arthur's mother had to remind him not to scratch, bite, or otherwise harm any of the other children.

Wanting to look the part, Lord Arthur picked out his favorite hat and coat. He didn't care that the hat was too big for his tiny head, it was still his favorite hat. He was a privateer, and all good captains had good hats. It was in the rules! He also refused to admit that his little red coat got too hot sometimes- however it made an excellent pillow or blanket for naptime.

Arthur was reluctantly dropped off at Kindergarden by his mother, and reluctantly meant him clinging to his mother's leg and crying. He didn't hate the place, he just wanted to run things differently. He was a captain, after all. He didn't want to go to school with commoners! Plus, he didn't want to share the toys, especially his hat or Sir Alexander Tubbykins IV of Nottingham, his unicorn plushie that rarely managed to leave his side.

Wiping the tears away, Arthur made sure that he wouldn't cry anymore, especially not in front of the other kids. He didn't want them to bully him about it. With a big pout on his face, Arthur trudged into the classroom and sat in the corner, trying to figure out if he could find some crewmembers or other nobility. He didn't want to sit alone, even if he didn't like sharing.

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

Post by Guest Tue May 31, 2011 3:49 pm

If fairies were born from a baby’s first laugh, then little angels were born from their first happy thought. Baby demons, on the other hand, were born from a baby’s first intentional, mean-spirited wail—the type that in revenge—revenge for a bottle fed too lukewarm or a toy not given in earnest or a groan from a dispirited father going on only 2 hours of sleep after three weeks—was meant to wake up neighborhoods, bring the cops, inspire split hair ends. The louder the wail, the higher-ranking the Demon would grow up to be. This particular baby Demon, though, had been born from a baby’s first scream. (And everyone that knows screams is well aware of the fact that they might as well be considered fail wails.) So it was that this particular Little Demon was born and raised amongst a high-ranking Demon family and dubbed—because of his adorable chubby cheeks, impish little nose, bright smile, and icy blue eyes—likely to be a Succubus.

The family was shamed. And they surely didn’t hide it from Little Demon.

His father had been shamed further when, upon sending his son to Fire Stars Daycare, the teacher had kicked the little Demon out for reading. (“Reading at three years old! A disgrace to a race that truly values the dying art of illiteracy! Out with him!” the teacher had wailed, slapping her long spiraled tail left and right.) So, his mother had found the kindergarten on Rainbow Street—or what his grandmother called “that Hippie academy for happy children and angels where they corrupt little Demons into picking flowers and... and being polite and saying… p—please and t—thank you! Why, I never! You’re going to spoil the baby!” His Grandfather, a grand Death Demon, had also had plenty of things to say about the daycare, but Little Demon was sure he shouldn’t repeat any of it. There had been a lot of bleeps involved, after all, and even the sound of a ship’s horn.

That’s why that morning, he had been pushed awake off his bed, stuffed into a black frilly shirt, and handed his favorite tiger stuffed animal Tigger before his Father had scuffed his wings with tar—for extra blackness!—shined his tiny budding horns and complained about his stubby, non-existent tail. He was then dragged all the way to Rainbow Street, his little arm bouncing as his tiny legs trotted as fast as they could. And he’d been dropped off, literally, as his father had picked him and said, “there you are, sport, now fly!” and thrown him like a projectile until he hit the ground with a thud, his diaper helping him bounce.

At first he had simply looked around, big blue eyes watering at the sight of such a bright and well-lit location. Little Demon might have been born from a scream, but at that moment, he clutched Tigger tightly and wailed—wailed so loud that he was sure the windows were shaking.

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

Post by Assistant Jones Tue May 31, 2011 5:01 pm

The future assistant seemed to have no special attributes or anything to make him different from the other kids that were in Kindergarten on Rainbow Street. He had no pretty wings, no awesome crowns, no cute little cloak, or even was really smart. Instead he carried a kind smile and a helping hand. One moment, he wanted to be an astronaut and the next would be a race car driver. Yet there was always one thing that little Alfred always wanted to be and that was a hero. He wanted to help other kids out! He wanted to have a smile on their face!

So he did just that and made that his goal as he was given a small lunchbox with big stars all over it and scribbled over with crayon during little Alfred's free time. His mother was a kind woman who always dropped him off each day at the school and she would make it a point to kiss him right on his chubby cheeks. This would always result in little Alfred blushing in embarrassment like what he was doing right now as her light lipstick smudged on his fat cheek.

"Mommy! I'm big now! I don't need a siwwy kiss!" He whines, trying to rub the lipstick off his cheek though she just simply laughs and wipes the lipstick off.

"Now, now Alfred. Go and have some fun with the rest of the kids." And with that, she would leave and every day, the young boy would quickly gasp before toddling up to grab his mother's sleeve, not wanting her to leave. He simply points to his cheek and she understands as she leans down to kiss his cheek again and he smiles because he knew that he could never go without his mother's good luck kiss.

So the little assistant steps inside the building, a bright smile like always on his pudgy face as he looks around and spots an empty plastic table, only up to his hips. So he toddles over and places his lunchbox down there, looking around to make sure that no one would steal it before looking around for someone to play. Maybe someone would want to play with him today because he didn't feel like making another penny tower! (He counted up to 100 before it collapsed! Though that left him sad for the rest of the day.)

If only he wasn't too scared to ask the other kids to play with him.

The little Prince beamed. It was the cute angel who had these tiny white wings on his back! He'd always wanted to be able to fly high and soar in the sky like a bird or a plane or better yet, like superman. That was why he was always watching Angel, every time dying to ask him how it was to have wings and be a able to fly. And today was his opportunity!

"Come!" He took Angel's hands and pulled him in to go to the playing room. He giggled and pushed Angel by the shoulder to make him sit. Angel was shy but he still wanted to play with him; maybe if he was nice enough, Angel would show him how he flew.

But then the bell rang again.

And once again the little Prince's eyes shone. He told Angel to wait and dashed for the door, halfway through stumbling and falling on his tummy. Finally he reached the door, he stood on tiptoe and pushed down the door handle.

He did that every time the bell rang. And little by little the kindergarten started to fill. And he made sure to greet everybody and let them sit down to play. In the end they were sitting in a circle, the little Prince called it the circle of life. Because it sounded mature. Something his Papa would say. Or Mufasa.

Apparently, all the parents in the world weren't creative with names, cause they all went with the names Alfred and Arthur. But little Prince didn't mind. Especially Alfred was an awesome name.

He had to force that little spelling guy to join the group as he was too engrossed in his writing and looking at his tummy wth a scowl.

The other Arthur claimed to be a wizard but reassured the little Prince that he wouldn't hurt him. As if anybody could hurt a brave Prince!

Then came his future wife. The little Prince didn't know what that meant, though Papa and Mama told him to be nice to his future wife. So he took the little to-be Queen's hand and kissed the back with a loud smooch.

The next Arthur made him cry.

A little demon was also part of the small group, he had really black wings and had a hard time in looking tough and evil. The little Prince simply hugged him and told him that everything was okay.

Kind of late was an ordinary boy. However, he was really nice and a cool person who also wanted to be a hero like him! His parents told him that he was a commoner but the little Prince saw through that disguise. It was obvious that it was only a superhero cover!

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

The little Werewolf was late. Very late. His Daddy wasn't an organized man and his Mommy was taking his brother to another Kindergarten (because Mommy wanted Mattie to have friends other than him. Alfred didn't understand why but Mommy was always right, so he let it pass.)

His Daddy was carrying him on his shoulders, trying to get them there fast without phasing. His Daddy was still faster than normal people and the little werewolf was very proud of him. He wanted to be this fast when he grew up too!

Since they were late, the moment they arrived in front of the Kindergarten the little werewolf could already smell that everyone was inside. He smiled, his fluffy ears twitching in anticipation.

His Daddy quickly told him goodbye and with a quick wave of his hand, he was already off. Alfred waved back, unseen.

When he turned back to the door, all his confidence left him. What if the others found his ears and tail and pointy teeth weird? Normal people didn't have those. Mommy said they will disappear once he learned how to phase but that was years from now!

The little werewolf was getting more and more anxious, his tail standing rigid, his whole frame frozen in fear, tears gathering in his eyes.

He wanted to make friends, very very much but they will hate him when they see how weird he is.

No! The little werewolf shook his head and rubbed his wet eyes. A hero like him will never let something like that stand in his way! He will get everyone to like him!

So with his cheeks slightly swollen and red, his tail swishing and ears standing pointedly up, the little werewolf knocked on the door (like Mommy said big boys should do because it's polite.)

Arthur was worried. Today would be his first day in Kindergarden and he was already late. The little boy sighted and wrapped his little arms tight around his brothers waist. Since their parents were on buisness trips most of the time the oldest son of the Kirkland family, Scott, had to take his little brother to the Kindergarden with his bicycle.

Half an hour late they finally stood in front of the door. Scott knocked on the door and waited for someone to open the door and take care of Arthur.
"Ok listen Artie. You don't have to cry ok? Everything's all right and I'm sure nobody will be mean to you when you're nice to them." The red haired boy told his little brother and patted his head to comfort him. "James will pick you up later so you don't have to go home alone." He told him and walked away after Arthur went inside the Kindergarden.

The little blond boy looked around shyly, hoping that maybe his brother would come back right now and bring him back home. He sat down on a chair which stood in a circle and watched the other children curiously.

As usual the prince had greeted them and they would end up sitting in a circle. The prince was nice, but Arthur had made sure to inform him that although he was a wizard he wouldn't cause harm to him and also that no nasty wizards would bring harm to the group.. not while he was here, no sir. Of course the prince had laughed and said no one could hurt such a brave prince.

He was now sitting in the group looking around as he always did. After his first day of being here he had gone home, telling mom and dad that nasty wizards had made other kids look like him. His older brother had laughed and told him that he had slipped 'pollyjuice' into the kindergarten to scare him. Needless to say, everyday Arthur made sure with Miss Elizabeta that 'pollyjuice' wasn't being given out, but still he always chose the milk.. his brother was sneaky after all

He got along well enough with the others, or tried to, he was like another one of kids and liked to read or practice away from the group.

While sitting in the group he was aware of a few newcomers, one was being attached with kisses by his mum and the other followed through the door looking like he had been crying, so Arthur smiled in his direction and waved. His cheeks turning pink as he did. The little wizard then turn back to group.

"What now then, pwince?"

The to-be Queen scowled when the Prince kissed his hand, he knew what it meant that they would be married. His parents were married so it meant that they would scream a lot at night but still sleep in different rooms. And that they were supposed to have kids too, but Arthur didn't want kids. He was a kid!

. . . But the prince was a familiar comfort so he kept a tight hold on the other's hand. Even if that means being tugged back and forth from the circle to the door. It was worth it. ". . . .Pwince?" He whispered in his ear. "Stay wiff me?" Arthur just didn't want to be alone with all these new people.

The one who claimed he could do magic fascinated and scared him at the same time. He always wanted to do magic, but he said there were bad people who used magic too.

He felt bad for the crying demon, but also stayed close beside Prince. Demons scared him, his mum was always saying out the were evil. This potential friend didn't look evil, but you never knew. . .!

The one dressed in the funny hat and coat, however, had an interesting toy. Arthur loved unicorns, but when Prince started to cry he held himself back from asking about it. If Prince didn't like him then he wouldn't either!

He also wanted to go see the one reading because he also loved books! But he kept glaring at Arthur so he decided against it as well.

More and more students kept coming, and Arthur was dragged along to say hello to each. He stood somewhat behind Prince and said a quiet "Hewow." To each, but not much else. Maybe he was a bit shy.

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

Post by Guest Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:49 am

When no one answered the door, Alfred decided to just go in. He had some difficulties with reaching the doorknob but none with opening it, of course. What he saw inside made all his irrational fears go away. There were kids his age (and some who looked a lot like him! Weird...) sitting in a circle and some of them being away from it. The little Werewolf looked at a boy in the middle of the circle talking animatedly to everyone while tugging another boy along with him. Alfred felt sorry for the boy who had to wear that frilly shirt. It looked girly.

Alfred looked around in his new Kindergarten. It had lots of kind of toys! He saw a jungle with palm trees and pirate monkeys and a chubby boy reading behind one of them. He saw him being dragged in the circle.

The little Werewolf blinked. Why wasn't he playing with the others? he wondered. Why was he still scowling even in the circle?
He didn't have any strange characteristics on him like Alfred so he should have many friends.

Maybe I should be try to be his friend! Alfred thought, his ears perking up.

As he walked towards the group he saw the other children. There were those two who were standing next to each other like a Princess and a Prince in the picture book his Mommy read to him last night. He saw the boy who waved when he entered (Alfred didn't know who he waved at but it was nice to think that it was him.)
He saw two other boys sitting in the circle, one of them looking around curiously, the other shyly.
What really captured his attention were two boys: one who had cute, fluffy, white wings and another who had black wings and small horns. Alfred was starting to hope. Maybe he could make friends who weren't werewolves?
He looked at the black-winged boy. He looked like he had been crying. Alfred couldn't allow that! Heroes never let anyone cry!
So he firmly set his resolution and stood in front of the black-winged boy.

"Hi, my name is Alfwed. Wanna be fwiends?" he asked with a beaming smile, flashing his canines to the world to see.

Everyone kept staring at his wings and he wondered if they were something he should feel embarrassed about. Before self consciousness could claim him however he decided that no, he was proud of his wings and even if he was teased it would be okay because they probably were just curious. In any case the prince was very kind ushering him into a seat as everyone else arrived. After a while he didn’t feel so alone since he wasn’t the only one with wings. Although Demon’s were black and he didn’t seem as approachable, in fact he would not have even thought of approaching him if it wasn’t for his sad eyes. The other Angels had warned him to be wary of Demons but the little Angel found it difficult when it didn’t look like the other would harm him. Although he made a point to smile, if a bit shyly at everyone who would look his way not wanting to be impolite.

He looked around the table watching as the Prince gathered all of the children together and even welcomed the late ones as they arrived and marveled at his confidence. He even had another little boy that clung to his arm, even as a small Angel he could see the future bond there and it made him happy as love always did for Angels.

So while everyone busied themselves trying to work up the nerve to speak with one another the little Angel merely took out his notepad from his magical toga and began scribbling down notes, trying his hardest to tune into his magical gifts. He saw the little Werewolf approach the Demon and figured it was a good spot as any to start his notes so he scribbled away as he watched them secretly, his tiny wings moving slightly when he got particularly excited at a discovery.

Arthur was really surprised, there were so many children at the Kindergarden and even though they all looked pretty much alike everyone had a special trait that made them different. Suddenly the little boy felt pretty plain and boring. Maybe he should speak to someone he thought, afraid of being overlooked.

His gaze wandered through the room and around the circle they sat in. Next to him sat a little boy that looked pretty much like him but at the same time looked far more fragile and very cute. He had two white and fluffy wings. Just like an Angel, Arthur thought and watched him for a little longer.

When the Angel took out a notepad all of a sudden he got very curious.
"E-excuse me..." He began shyly. "May I ask what you'we w'iting?"

The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street Empty Re: The Kindergarten on Rainbow Street

So, maybe he was one of the smaller children around. Little Demon was used to being small, especially compared to towering giants and his own parents. Besides, tiny versus small had a very insignificant difference, and he couldn't complain. Already he was garnering a lot of attention. In fact, Little Demon stopped crying momentarily when he felt the Prince's arms envelope him into a gentle hug. It's going to okay, he said--the words kept repeating in his mind--so he sniffled and pursed his pouty lips, tucking Tigger tightly between his arms. A nod later, the Little Demon found himself in a circle surrounded by many other children, all of whom seemed to be particularly kind and different, though none that looked exactly like him. His eyes kept falling on three specific people, all for very mischievous little reasons as was normal of any young budding Demon. First was the kid dressed like a pirate. Little Demon liked Pirates--they were a special kind of mean that pleased Demons very much. In fact, his Aunt.,a particularly well-reknowed Demoness, was married to a Pirate--or was he just a mercenary? Little Demon could never keep those straight, but he didn't particularly care to, either. All he wanted to do was sneak up behind the Pirate and wrap his tiny hand around the thick material of the coat and tug at the tails and just never let go.

The material looked particularly coarse and thick, much like his blankie back home. And Demon certainly missed his blanket.

Then there was the Angel, who for some reason had tucked himself into his wings and was scribbling into a little notebook. So that one could write, eh? Little Demon pursed his lips, trying to peek at the Angel, especially his fluffy white wings. Demon had a particularly weird obsession with Angel wings, mostly because he thought they were pretty and looked soft, very much unlike his own wings, which he considered black and tarry and ugly. Absolutely ugly. And useless. Very much useless because no matter how much he tried to fly, he only ever got a few inches off the ground for a few minutes at most. So Little Demon was sure he would be following the Angel around, though secretly, more on a stalking basis. He was already the shame of he family. He didn't need to be chastisesd by his parents again. But he was decided. He was going to grab those wings. And pull. Hard. Because he was jealous, as most Little Demons would be of such awesome wings.

(Poor Little Demon certainly didn't understand the problems with that statement--Demons were never jealous of Angels, much less of theirs wings. Oh no, never that!)

And then--then there was the Puppy! Demon had never seen a talking puppy before! And it was asking to be his friend, which was kind of cool, and he was almost ashamed that he still had tiny tears clinging the edge of his bright blue eyes. So he looked up from Tigger, something he had been taught at his old school because he supposively looked extra adorable--and extra adorable was always the first step for a litle Demon to master--and nodded lightly. "Hewwo," he waved shakily, his voice barely a whisper behind his stuffed animal, "I'm Alfwed, but my mummy calls me Wittle Dwemon. I'm thwee..." and he raised three chubby fingers, "I like you. You're a cwute puppy!" And had words been read instead of spoken, there would have been hearts (<3) sprinkled all over the words. Not that it was necessary to stress that. Little Demon's shiny blue eyes when they fell on the other's wagging furry tail showed more than enough hearts.

Oh. Could he somehow pull that tail? It was probably soft, too!

The little Werewolf smiled. The other one was talking to him! But then his smile disappeared. Why was he calling him a puppy? Was he making fun of him and being mean like all the others back in his old Kindergarten? He wasn't a puppy. He was obviously a Werewolf! Alfred looked down at his feet. The other Alfred had said he was cute and that he liked him. So he wasn't making fun of him. The little Werewolf didn't know.

But his Mommy sometimes called him 'Pup', so maybe the other Alfred was just calling him that because of his age? That must be it! The little Werewolf smiled, his spirits lifted. He was about to say that he liked him too but then he felt something grasping his little tail and tugging on it. Hard.

Alfred, while not a whiny kid, couldn't help but cry out. It hurt!

He looked at the little horned kid still grasping his tail and looking at him with a surprised expression.

The little Werewolf started crying. Why was he hurting him like the mean kids? He didn't look mean! And he was weird like him!

"Let go! Pwease let go ow my tail! It huwts!" the little Werewolf cried harder.

Did this mean everyone was going to hate him here too?

The little Privateer was hesitant to join the fun. He wasn't the best at making friends or dealing with other kids, like those mean neighbors and their moms who were saying awful lies about his mum. It wasn't his mum's fault that the little Privateer was always the last to pick up. She had lots of work to do, not drink and act silly. Even if she had forgotten to pick him up once.

The other kids looked happy enough on their own, and young Lord Arthur didn't want to be blamed for their tears. The time out corner was awful! He wouldn't even have his trusty steed to accompany him. The little privateer clung a bit tighter to his unicorn at that thought.

However, the little Privateer hated being alone. It made his heart hurt and tears well up in his eyes, and Privateers didn't cry! So, the little Privateer edged towards the outer rim of the group, not wanting to get too close, but terrified of being completely excluded. Meanwhile, he resisted the urge to just curl up and bury his face in his fluffy unicorn plushie. A little frown on his face would serve just fine in expressing his dismay.

Little Demon looked down at his hand, eyes widening so that he looked like a deer caught in headlights. In his hand--that little grabby hand that gave him so many problems up above--he held the Puppy's tail. How had that happened? Sure, it felt fluffy and soft and furry and it had been wagging like crazy, but Little Demon couldn't remember wrapping his chubby hands around it at all, much less tugging. So he immediately let go, eyes tearing up at the sight of the other one crying. And so, there they were: Wolfie and Demon, wailing together, one rubbing at his tail while the other tried to rub the tail as well. "I'm so sowwy! I'm sowwy," Little Demon sniffled, trying to hide his nose behind the crook of Tigger's fluffy neck. "I didn't know it would huwt..."

First day and already he had probably ruined the possibly most awesome friendship he could have achieved under his circumstances.

"I'm twuly sowwy," he added in, and sniffled, extending out his stuffed tiger as a consolation prize. He stared down at his now empty little hand, still itching to pet at the fluffy tail in apology. But all he did was present the other with his stuffed animal, practically pushing it into the Pup's arms. "His name is Twigger (Tigger). He's good at making pweople happwy. Want to huggle him?"

Even as Little Demon did this, though, he noticed from the corner of his eye as the Little Pirate he had been staring at before began to move away from the group towardsits fringes. Why was his coat so cool and... was that a fluffy unicorn he was holding? Maybe a future friend for Tigger? So even as he was handing Tigger off, and watching his new friend Wolfie's sniffles still to a lull, he waved at the Little Pirate. "Hewwo! I wike your boots!" he beamed a happy little smile, "And I wike your unicwon. Want to join us?"

After he got an apology, he was immediately consoled. He had done a lots of bad things in the past too and his Mommy and Daddy and Mattie always forgave him after he had apologized. So he beamed at the little Demon and patted his plushie on it's head.

"It's owkay! So, we are fwiends now, right?" Alfred asked, somewhat shyly.

Then from the corner of his eyes he saw the guy the other Alfred was waving at. His eyes lit up. He looked so cool! Like a pirate!

"I wike your hat! Can i twy it on? You wook wike a piwate!" the Little Werewolf shouted to the Pirate-boy.

He wondered why he was standing on the outer side of the group. Maybe he was too shy to make friends? Well, Alfred really, really wanted to be his friend. And he told him so too.

"Hi, I'm Alfwed and I wanna be your fwiend! Do you wanna be my fwiend?" Alfred shouted to the pirate, still beaming.

He was meeting so many interesting people today! Sure, the other Alfred had pulled his tail and it hurt but he wasn't one to hold gu...gur.. what was it? Anyway, he wasn't angry about it.

Alfred hoped with all his heart that the horned little boy with the cool wings and the pirate-y boy with the cool hat would become his friends.

His future wife was a shy little one and seemed to send hostile glares towards the pirate boy. But his glare didn't look that intimidating, cause his cheeks got all puffed up and red.

The little Prince let his gaze wander and he discovered one new boy sitting on a chair. He pulled his Arthur alomg to meet the new boy who had been observing the others with a shy look. The little Prince tilted his head and smiled at him.

"Hewwou! Mah name is Awfed the pwince of Spades and this is mah fucha wife! And you are? Do you wanna join us playing?"

Arthur got a little sad when the cute Angel next to him didn't answer his question. Maybe he didn't hear me. He thought and looked around.
Suddenly he heard a voice. A young boy stood near him and introduced himself as the Prince of Spades.
"A-are you...tawking with me?" Arthur asked shyly. There were so many other children here it was highly possible that the young boy had wanted to talk to someone else. But even so Arthur wanted to at least try to talk to him.
"I'm Awthur. Nice to meet you." The shy blond said to the ever so confident Prince and his rather silent fellow. So this was his future wife? He thought. Does that make him a princess then? Arthur questioned himself.

The various glares from the kids who seemed to be the leaders made the little Privateer a bit wary when the little Demon and the little Werewolf called to him. What if the others didn't realize that there was something that made the other two disapprove of him? Arthur didn't want to get glared at again. Just thinking about it got his dander up. The little Privateer hadn't even done anything and those two were glaring at him and trying to exclude him! Arthur glared right back at the Prince and his future wife before walking over to the little Demon and the little Werewolf.

Arthur took extra care not to trip on his boots or hat, he was a Lord, after all, so he had to present himself with poise. With a slight huff, he introduced himself to the two, "I'm Lord Awfur Kirkwand, and m'a pwivateer!" He bowed a bit, since it was the polite thing to do.

Then he held up his unicorn. "Dis is Sir Awexander Tubbykins IV of Nottin'ham. But you can caw him Sir or Sir Awexander." After all, since Sir Alexander was his friend, Arthur had to give the unicorn a proper introduction.

The little Privateer blushed, hesitant to smile or show how glad he was to be included. He had to remind himself that being alone was okay, and that he was strong! Even though being all alone made him cry.

Arthur fidgeted a bit before clinging to his hat, not sure if he should lend it out to the one with the funny ears. Hesitantly, he took it off and held it out. "Don't huwt it! Is mah pwecious t-twe... prize! Mah dad gabe it to me." As for the question about being friends.... the little Privateer was unsure. What if they were joking? He had to be tough!

"Hewwo, Lord Awfur Kirkwand, I wike your boots," Little Demon watched the Little Pirate bow and his large blue eyes sparkled from behind the fuzzy head of his stuffed tiger. He had never met a privateer! Much less a Lord! And even his Unicorn had a title! Little Demon stepped forward, shyly, and grabbed Tigger's hand so that he could make the plushie wave. "This is Twigger, and I'm Alfwed. Dwemon for showt," and then he bowed to copy the other little boy, completely enraptured by the bright colors and well-made design of the plushie, not once taking his eyes from the unicorn's snout, "pweasure to mweet you, Sir Awexander. You have pwetty hair."

And with that, he began to look around again, his little eyes fixating on the back of the Lord's coat when he turned to hand Wolfie his hat - an impressive hat, really, with that one lonesome ostrich feather and ornate pearls. Demon watched as the Puppy grabbed it gently. He really was behaving - quite an accomplishment for him. Until his hand decided to attack again.

He grabbed one of the coattails of the pretty pirate coat, which had seemed to billow only moments before. The material really did feel soft, not rough like he had originally imagined, and so he let his thumb brush over the golden threads that marked the corners with what seemed to Lord Kirkland's family emblem. For some reason, the gold made him happy, so his tiny black wings - tarred extra carefully by his father that morning - began to flap gently.

So it was that the sight that met Lord Kirkland when he turned around - probably to chastise him or maybe yell at him, because that's what most people seemed to do around Little Demon - was of a tiny three year old grabbing for his coat, practically choking his stuffed tiger with his other arm. And, of course, there were the wings, just flapping like it was the 4th of July, which just so happened to be his birthday.

And so it was that even when Lord Kirkland tried to take a step forward, maybe to move away or tug his coattail from the other's chubby hand, Little Demon simply took a step forward, following right along. He simply beamed smiles everywhere, mostly now amazed by the hat on Wolfie's head. No one could say he didn't appreciate pretty things. At least he was a good Demon in that department.

And, really, sometimes it paid to be a cute Little Demon. And then there were times when that could cause trouble. This was more than likely the latter, but until he was told to scram, he simply held onto the coat, feeling the emblem burn against his palm.
