A Game of Love and War - Page 2 Empty Re: A Game of Love and War

Post by Angel Arthur Fri Jan 06, 2012 1:39 pm

Arthur ran down hall towards the meeting room, getting a few odd looks from devils he passed and even some comments on him running and being late. He just managed to stop himself from smacking into the doors to the meeting room and tried to compose himself before walking in.
He knew he was going to get some disaproving looks from other angels but it was worrying how many were subtley (or not so much in some cases) glaring at him for just arriving on time. Willing his breathing to calm down he made his way back to his seat and resisted the urge to slump down in it to catch his breath and instead forced himself to sit upright, with as much dignity as he could muster for being almost late.

He lost any shred of dignity he was trying to show when he caught sight of Alfred again and flared bright red. “My room is 605, come visit sometimes.” He just had to remember that didnt he? Stubbornly turning his head away and hoping the blush would come across as being more angry than anything he went along with staring down any late comers with the rest of the angels. The devils still coming in found it more funny than anything.

Alfred’s face lid up as he watched the angel walked into the room, slightly out of breath. His face was flushed again, which seems to happen more often than not. The devil plunders what would have been the cause of such lateness. Well, he wasn’t really late, but all the other angels have arrived a few minutes ago and judging by the disapproving look from the other angels, Arthur is most certainly, “late” by angels standards anyways.

Once everyone had seated, a few devils a couple of minutes late, the meeting resume once more. The angels seemed pretty set on their terms, and the devils were equally stubborn in refusing it. Alfred quickly began to lose interest as the angels started bring back past incidents that most certainly happened more than a century ago, such as the cause of the Black Plague and the dark ages and other events. The devil countered that all those devils were punished and just to irk the angels, they explain in explicit details what they did and the way the devils suffer. Angels have probably influenced people too, but they were much more subtle about…. That or the devils are just bad at finding those moments. It’s practically the humans fault as well. Humans don’t usually record good things, mostly bad things, wars and crimes, the stuff devils like to get involve with.

Once the meeting started again Arthur tried his best to keep watching everyone to make sure everyone was safe. No one could settle on any terms and it made everyone edgy because no one wanted to over run the few days booked for the meetings. A lot of the angels were also disgusted by the way some of the devils were punished. One angel, a rather young looking girl, stood up. "Instead of arguing over why and why not we can and can not do this, why don't we just change the terms slightly?" this earned a few disaproving glares from some angels which made her voice waver slightly, "Instead of all mistakes being punished by us, why not make it so that anything like another world war caused in the human world by the devils be punished instead?" the last sentance being directed towards the devils.

Arthur looked at the girl, if he remembered right this was also her first meeting but as she came from a higher up family, one that was usually present in discussions, she must have been brought along for experience as she was likely to come to these meetings more often in the future, even if her brother was the one who talked more.
Looking at the older brother Arthur couldn't help but notice he was now sitting very stiffly in his seat and glaring down any devil looking oddly at his sister. Vash was always very protective of her Arthur noted.

“You have no right to pass jurisdiction upon our awesome race!” Gilbert stood up as well, not wanting to lose to the young angel’s outburst. “That is not fair that you have that kind of control over our race when we have none over yours. Isn’t angels all about equality and all that shit?”

Alfred sighed to himself as he watches the scene of the meeting; this will undoubtedly turn into another argument match. He really doesn’t see how his race would agree to this arrangement. After all, for a devil to be able to create enough influence to cause a world war, he must have immense power. Just thinking that their sworn enemy race would have power over some of their most powerful devils doesn’t sit right with Alfred, and he doubt it sits right with any of the other devils here. But some kind of agreement had to be reached, be it an acceptable term, or some kind of war.

Many shouts came from the angels side of the table, 'Think of it as a way to stop more wars like this from happening!' 'We are about equality. You lot are just terrible at behaving and we need to stop you from causing further harm!' 'We need to agree on something...' and others were drowned out by the loud noise.

Arthur resisted the urge to smack his head off the table and ran a hand through his hair instead. He glanced down the table and worridly noticed that some angels and devils looked ready to jump at the other and start a fight that promised to get ugly very quickly. Expecially the silvered haired one from earlier who was getting a number of filthy looks from various angels.

Arthur stood up quickly and smacked his hands on the table. The smack being louder than normal thanks to the use of some of his magic and unintentionaly sending a few nearby papers shooting to the floor from the excess magic. "Will all of you shut the bloody hell up before a war starts in this damn room!" Well he got everyone to shut up atleast but now all eyes were on him. Not exactly something he wanted. He felt his face go slightly pink as he looked around.

'Say something Arthur...'

"Guh..."

'Yeah... That works.'

Alfred was surprised at the angel’s outburst. Well, not really. He figured that that particular angel probably has a temper base on their little encounter, and is lightly to snap if things get out of hand. Still, seeing it happening was another matter all together. Every pair of eyes was turned towards Arthur, and the blond can just imagine how the angel must feel under that deep red face. And that… noise he let out.

“Pff-“Alfred laughed. He threw his head back and laughed. Because, really, it’s quite amusing.

All the attention was turned towards him now, but Alfred was too busy laughing at that green-eyed angel to really care. His father threw him a disapproving look, but he really didn’t care.

Arthur was going to swallow any embarrasment from making a scene in the meeting and at least attempt to get it back on track. All of the eyes on him had made him clam up though. He was used to some attention being from a rather well off family but this was a lot at once. Just as he went to open his mouth to actually say something this time, and not make a stupid noise, Alfred had the gall to go and laugh.

Arthur glared at Alfred, along with a few other angels. One angel stood up from his seat and stared across the table at Alfred, who was still laughing so hard it was a suprise his chair hadnt fallen backwards yet, and frowned. "What exactly is so funny?"

Alfred’s laughter died off though a grin remind. “Nothing, nothing.” The devil shook his head. “Don’t mind me; carry on with your arguments; something about a war?” Although he was address everyone, the sapphire eyes was focused solely on Arthur.

“There will be no war.” The King of devil spoke, his voice firm and his eyes hard. He gaze rest on the Head of the Angel. “Don’t you agreed.” It was not a question.

The Head Angel agreed that there will not be a war and asked what would be a more acceptable punishment from the devils point of view, for later debate on wether it was acceptable on angel terms when they had there own private meeting after these discussions were finished for the day. The extra meeting between just angels would be needed if something could not be agreed on.

Arthur sat back down in his chair and refused to look anywhere near Alfred and his stupidly distracting gaze and tried to pay attention to what was being said, but something about the devil kept distracting him. Arthur couldn't work out what it was, but he knew the other infuritated him. The way he barely took any interest in what was being said around him instead choosing to just lounge sloppily in his chair. His dress sense could use some work (but so could all of the devils with what they thought was appropriate meeting attire). His eyes that Arthur couldn't help but compare to the sk-
He really needed to clear his head and pay attention to the meeting. Giving himself a quick shake he focused back on the discussion and even wrote some notes down.

He could not wait for the meeting to finish.

Alfred sat non-enchanted in his room, his boredom clearly shown. He caught some of the angels shooting him disapproving looks, but the young devil could really care less. He can tell that this meeting is going nowhere anyways, so why waste his energy? His father and the head angel seem to be talking about the solution, but really they were just making the same points again and again. Looking up at the clock, Alfred noted that it’s been a three hours already, he can’t wait for this to be over. Even looking at the angels are getting boring, all they’re doing right now is listening and sometimes commenting.

Well, for some reason, looking at Arthur is a bit… less boring. Sometimes Alfred caught the angel looking at him as well. They eyes would meet and Alfred would smirk or waves sometimes. He would get to that pale face colored red as the angel hastily turned back to the speaker. It is quite… amusing.

'Stupid, stupid, stupid Alfred. Him and his stupid ability to make me blush!' was what was going through Arthurs head at having been caught looking at the devil again. For roughly the tenth time.

In the past half hour...

He was finding it extremely hard to pay attention to the meeting as the minutes ticked by and he was sure some of the other angels noticed Alfred's behaviour towards him. Pretending to scribble something down on some paper infront of him Arthur looked around the room, shocked to see not only angels were watching him and Alfred, but a few devils as well. Ducking his head back down he continued to write random things on his paper.
He was far to distracted to pay attention to the meeting and just about caught on that the meeting was finished for the day when people started getting out of their chairs. He mad a quick escape from the room before Alfred could hopefully reach him, using the crowd leaving the meeting room as cover.

Thank god that’s over with, Alfred thought as he got up to stretch. The fact that the green-eyed angel sped out of meeting room did not go unnoticed by the young devil, and Alfred is willing to bet his horns that he was the reason why.

“Hey ya Al! Wanna hang out with the awesome me and my gang tonight? We’re gonna get totally wasted tonight!” the silver haired devil from before asked, looping and arm casually around Alfred’s shoulder.

“Si, Amigo,” another devil approach the duo, “we’re going to have lot of fun tonight.” His Spanish accent dripped around every world.

“I think I’ll pass,” Alfred replied, slowly removing the other’s hand away from his shoulder. “I have a lot to think about after what father has told me earlier, you guys have fun without me.”

“Ah, such a shame,” an elbow came down on Alfred’s other shoulder while the owner’s lend in way too close for comfort. “I was really looking forward to spending time with the infamous prince. It’s been far too long.”

“Well, sorry to disappoint you Francis,” Alfred shook the too-friendly devil off. “But, not tonight, perhaps some other time.” The devil quickly slipped away from the trio before they can try to further persuade him.

After getting out of the room Arthur took to wandering the halls, he didnt feel like returning to his hotel room yet, he had nothing of intrest in there anyway. He didn't know where exactly he was going as he was wandering round the corridors hoping to not run into anyone that would have the need to talk to him, about the meeting or his odd behaviour. He noticed some hotel room numbers and thought nothing of the actual numbering and kept on walking, his room was a few floors down anyway. room 479.

Of course, he never had much luck; as soon as he turned a corner he ran straight into a small group of angels. "Arthur! What was up with you in that meeting? You were acting strange in there!" Arthur flinched as an arm was slung across his shoulders. Mathias was well known for being loud.

Arthur refused to look towards the tall blonde with a stern, scary looking face or Mathias himself instead preferring to look at the floor "I just have a lot on my mind. Now if you dont mind, I have things I want to be doing."

"Come on Arthur! Dont be like that. Tell us whats wrong."

Alfred took the elevator up, even though he lives on the second floor, fully intended to watch some mindless television and not think about what his father told him. Maybe he’ll drink a few bottles of beer that was already in his room. On his way he spotted a group of angels conversing not too far from his destination. Of the angels, he caught sight of the green eyed one easily.

“Hey Arthur!” the devil called out without thinking, waving wildly. All the angels turned to him in surprised, staring in mild horror, eyes wide as Alfred approach them with a relaxed posture.

As the son of Hell came closer, one of the sterner looking angel, took a protective stand in front of the other angels, Arthur included.

“What do you want?” the angel asked in a not-very-welcoming-tone.

Stopping a few feet away, Alfred puts up his hand in defense, a grin ever present on his face. “Chill man, I’m not gonna do anything. Just wanted to say hi.”

"There is nothing wrong" he scoffed. "I am simply having a bad day, it happens to all of us." Mathias laughed, loudly, at that and clapped Arthur on the back.

"We could tell by the way you blew up and screamed at everyone in there. Head will probbaly want to talk to you about that at some point."
That was not something Arthur was going to look forward too. Not only had he almost turned up late to the meeting but he had also screamed at people.

"I don't think you need to worry to much about it Arthur. As you said in there, things needed too calm down or else us or the devils could have done something that could be very undiplomatic." Arthur offered a small barely there thank-you smile at the speaker, Tino, a small, kind faced angel with the typical blonde hair and blue eyes that most angels seemed to have (not that it was the rule, Arthur had seen angels with brown and red hair.)

Just as the stern looking Berwald nodded and grunted his agreement with Tino, Arthur heard his name being called from down the hall, in a very distinctive accent and voice. The group of angels all froze and turned to stare wide eyed as Alfred waved madly and came closer.

'Oh no, please not now, not infront of other angels.'

Arthur stood frozen on the spot as Alfred came closer and Berwald stepped forward to stand infront of everyone and asked what Alfred wanted. Lukas also stepped up and scowled not saying anything while Mathias just grinned at the side with an arm still slung over Arthur's shoulder, the grin looking more sharp and a bit dangerous as he felt how Arthur tensed under him. Tino and Emil watched the devil aswell as Berwald and Lukas carefully.

"Well you said 'hi' now so what else do you want?" Arthur hissed at the devil. He did not want to be seen as being to pall-y with a devil when other angels are present. "Surely you have something better you can be doing?"

“Don’t be so cold, dudes.” Alfred replied with a pout. “Aren’t angels suppose to be nice and friendly and all that? You all act like I murder your whole family and killed your dog in front of you or something.” The demon chuckled, taking a few slow steps closer to test the water.

The angels grew tenser, as though debating whether or not to attack. However no actions were taken for if neither side attacks, there would surely be war. They all know that whoever is present was of high enough standing that if any harm shall befall them from the other other’s, it would not go unpunished.

None of the angel's responded to Alfred saying they were acting like he killed their family and dog, they had good reasons for how they were acting. It wasnt like the devils treated them nicely. Arthur clearly remembered the way some devils jeered at him when he was running to the meeting earlier and scowled, Alfred expected them to be nice?
"Maybe we would be 'nice and friendly and all that' if we were treated the same way."

Tino frowned at Alfred "If you're not here for a reason then we were in the middle of a conversation you know."

“Now you’re being racist. Just cause I’m a devil doesn’t mean I would treat you badly. All I did was say hi. Racism is not cool man~” Alfred replied in a sing-song voice. “Besides, you’re all standing outside my room.”

The devil pointed to the room right behind the angels. The number 605 stood proudly, etched in to the silver plate on the door.

Simular scowls and glares made their way across the group of angels faces at roughly the same time. They all probbaly looked rather funny pulling matching facial expressions all at once but it was a bit much for a devil to call them racist. Usually it was the devils when they threw jibes and insults at them, and as soon as they say something back it makes them racist?
Mathias snorted and then started laughing, "You have some weird logic on the reactions between us lot and you lot."

At Alfred saying they were outside his door Arthur and Tino turn their heads to look at the door behind them as Mathias continues to laugh and the rest of them carry on watching Alfred. Tino lets out an 'Oh' sound while Arthur frowns and blushes slightly. How did he end up right outside Alfreds room of all places? He had the whole hotel to walk around and he ended up here? Something must have it in for him today...

"Don't want to keep you waiting then." Berwald mumbled, or at least something that sounded like that. It could be hard to understand the angel at times unless you personally knew him well. Turning around Berwald and the other angels started walking off down the corridor, also leading Arthur away. Arthur frowned and glanced over his shoulder at Alfred.

Alfred watched as the group of angels left, a bit surprised when he caught Arthur glancing back at him. He winked at him and pointed to the door mouthing “you’re invited” silently. The devil chuckled as he watched the other turned red before quickly turning around and walked around the corner. Once they were out of sight, the blond unlocked his door and went in.

The room was just as he left it, clean except the bed. He flops onto the messy bed and snuggled into the soft covers. The meeting was rather tiring. It wasn’t like he was expected to do much, but the atmosphere was overbearing. And that the thing his father told him… he wasn’t too sure how to approach the assignment. Alfred took a few deep breaths and closed his eyes and before he knew it, he drifted off into a light slumber.

After playing off the blushing from Alfred's wink as a reaction to something Mathias said to him Arthur finally got away from the group with an excuse that he wanted to go to his own room. Wishing the other angels a good night Arthur started to make his way to his own room when Alfred popped back into his head.
Stopping in the middle of the hallway Arthur scowled. There had to be a reason why Alfred was acting like this towards him and not in the typical way the devil usually acted with the angels. It was very suspicious that he was acting so... friendly, even if he was being weird while doing it. Well Arthur was not going to let the devil get to him anymore. He probbaly expected Arthur to not show up and then pester him the next day about how he was to scared or embarrased to turn up at his room!

Scowl still firmly in place Arthur stormed down the halls back to Alfred's room, finding the one with 605 on, and knocked rather harshly on the door after checking that no one was walking down the hallway.

Alfred rubbed his eyes, picking his head off the bed an inch. He thought he heard a knock on the door, but he couldn’t think of anyone that would be knocking. All the other devils should have been hitting the local bars or something. However, the knock was real for it came again, sharp and fast. Groggily, the devil got off the bed and drags his feet across the room; not caring about his ruffled appearance resulted from sleeping in his suits.

“I’m coming! Yesh, hold your horses.” Alfred shouted when another loud bang hit his door. He finally made it there, not brothering to check who it is through the peephole, the young devil yank the door open wide.

“What d-“his sentence caught when he saw the angel standing in front of his door. “Arthur?”

Arthur raised an eyebrow just slightly at the door being yanked open then sneered at the terribly ruffled and creased suit the devil was wearing. Did he fall asleep in his suit or something? "Yes, my name is Arthur. Are you going to let me in or stand around gawping stupidly?" then not even waiting for an answer the angel pushed past the other into the room and looked around. It was rather neat but the bed was obviously just slept in. 'So he did fall asleep in his suit then.'

Arthur turned to face Alfred when he heard the door click closed and chose to get right to the point "What do you want from me? You must want something to be acting like this towards me as an angel."

“What do you mean, “acting like this?” “ Alfred walked pass the angel and took a seat on the coach. “I thought I was being perfectly courteous.” He stared at the angel who looked somewhat out of place in his room. Not because Arthur look weird in a hotel room or anything. It’s just the thought that an angel has willingly visited him alone, in his room was… unthinkable. Sure the devil himself was the one that invited the said angel, but he never thought that the offer would be taken up.

“Oh, you think that just because a devil is acting nice, that they want something from you.” Alfred concluded with an accusing tone. It’s not that Arthur’s reaction was out of the ordinary, it’s perfectly natural actually. Devils are not known for being nice, if ever. Alfred just like to push the little angel’s buttons.

"Perfectly courteous? I do not think it is courteous in anyway to stare at a person all day and distract them from their work." Arthur guessed that he most likely looked extremely defensive, with the way his arms were now folded infront of his chest and a scowl still on his face. His posture was probbaly not helping this either with the way he was standing completely ramrod straight. "You can not deny that that is what you have been doing all day. Anyone who was paying attention at the meetings could tell that you barely gave a flying rats arse about the actual discussions, to caught up in staring at me to do anything."

Arthur picked up on the others acusing tone and was a bit baffled on why that would be a sore spot for the other. "Well of course I do. How many devils act the way you do, expecially to an angel, if you don't want something? You said earlier that it was is lot being 'racist' to you lot, but to be honest can you actually blame any of us for thinking it?"

Arthur took a few steps closer to the couch, looking down at Alfred from his standing postion to the others still sitting position. "So I want to know why you are doing this."
