Raising an eyebrow when he hears the phone ring, Alfred just frowns a bit as he sees Arthur immediately answer it. He really was the kind of man to take his job as first priority before anything else. Though he couldn't really blame him…he was the CEO of one of the biggest companies globally. In comparison to this very influential man right here, Alfred was simply a dunce with no table manners, an appetite as large as a whale's, and so completely the opposite of Arthur.

He simply waits for Arthur to finish his phone call but soon notices the man motioning him to head out of the restaurant. Giving a small smile, Alfred simply follows behind him, putting his hands in his pockets as they go back to the car. That really was a nice lunch. If he got that more often, then he was certain that he would really enjoy his job.

There were many things that Arthur was known for in the business world, but amongst the CEOs of other companies, the one feature that stood out about the Englishman was perhaps his ruthlessness. He dealt with his competitors swiftly and mercilessly, making sure to leave no room for retaliation, and worked ceaselessly until everything was going exactly the way he wanted it.

Thus, Arthur found himself disconnecting the call a mere three minutes or so later, having settled things to work fully in his favor. By then, they were already at the valet. He handed over the ticket and received his car just a minute afterwards, and made sure to pay a good amount of money for the service before slipping into the driver's seat.

"When we get back," he said, waiting for Alfred to get in before driving, "I'll teach you how to handle my calls. You'll be receiving a cellphone for it with all the important numbers already saved inside, but take care not to abuse the privilege."

Alfred did not know much about the business world or at least the real business world. He was given the textbook and was told to read, to learn it yet he never had experience. This was why this job was so important. He could learn from the top man himself and then attempt to surpass even him. This was the best way for him to learn, especially in business and he wanted to be the man known later on. Yet that must have just been who Alfred just was.

He loved attention, he loved being known and people uttering his name from their lips. It brought him joy like no other. He was patient (enough) and he would simply watch right now until he could learn even the smallest of things. It was not necessarily plotting against his boss, rather just a way for him to get jumpstarted in the world of business without being completely crushed beforehand. That would suck.

A whole lot.

Alfred raises his eyebrows when he just sees how much money the man was giving to others. Like hell he could money away like that. He was still in debt to that Chinese man and he kept his own money close to his heart. He wasn't way too well off but he was hoping that this new job would start helping him with his silly debts and start to help him learn the ways of business. That would be rather nice…truly. He soon glances over at Arthur as he notices that he was finally done with the phone call. Work over personal time. It sounded a bit sad but he decides to keep that part quiet. Very quiet in fact.

The assistant soon steps into the passenger's seat and this time, was better able to hold back that horrid temptation to just run his hand over everything that was nice. His boss wouldn't like that at all, whether they were working or not. Though he still couldn't help but absolutely admire the interior. It was much nicer than his own car, just like how everything else about the man was nicer than him. At least he had optimism and enthusiasm on his side.

The moment that the CEO starts speaking, Alfred glances over at the older man and simply gives a polite smile. "Of course, sir. I will make sure not to abuse the privilege." He laughs softly though in all reality, he was extremely tempted to abuse the privilege. Honestly…a cellphone? Just with the job? That was amazing! Though he had to make sure that he didn't use it with his friends or anything…which kind of sucked. But sacrifices had to be made for the nicer things in life.

Unfortunately.

The drive back was relatively quiet, and again, Arthur didn't try to pursue further conversation. It was a strange fact that he tried his utmost to keep hidden, but in reality, he was a little awkward in these sorts of situations. He could give a speech that inspired millions and keep things under control, even under the worst situations, but if put in a room full of strangers, he'd come out after one day with no new friends at all.

This wasn't to say that he was anti-social, or just completely incapable of making acquaintaces. Actually, he performed quite well in official social functions, if only because he knew what to say, and when to say it. Every formal dinner party and meeting were the same. They had the same people who wanted to hear the same things, who said the same things and had the same ambitions.

Informal settings were different, and so, they confused him. What did his conversation partner want to hear? What did he have to say in order to get the most out of the relationship? Arthur didn't know, and so, he remained quiet. It was better to say nothing at all and suffer from no losses, than to say something and risk anything at all.

That being said, he didn't say anything after the cellphone comment, instead just turning on one of his CD's to help with the awkward atmosphere. Almost immediately, Steven Jones began with a beautiful guitar rift, leading to Johnny Rotten's criticism of social conformity. (How ironic, for him to still love these bands and agree fully with their lyrics, even as he became one of the people that the Sex Pistols used to rally against.)

Arthur tapped his finger on the steering wheel as he drove, just barely able to keep himself from singing along to the song.

If there was anything to be known about Alfred, it was that he was a social butterfly. He strived to be in the spotlight, to converse with absolutely everyone. This included his own seemingly anti-social boss, Arthur Kirkland. He was hoping he could change that though (of course not out of a business relationship context), but it was truly rather miserable to see such a reserved man. He needed to let out a bit, to enjoy himself even if that meant he had to bring some excitement into the work place.

Okay. So what was the actual chance of that happening? Honestly. He might as well get fired for trying to bring some fun in there though he would just have to prove himself to be an indispensable assistant first before bringing some excitement. Alfred really wasn't aware of how social Arthur truly was. He knew that he could give inspiring speeches, but he seemed rather awkward when it came between just the two of them.

Just between an assistant and an CEO going out together for lunch. He could nearly feel the awkwardness just lingering in the air. It truly was rather discomforting though he pushes away any feeling of discomfort. He didn't think too much about what the man wanted to hear, instead saying things he was truly interested in. There was nothing wrong with that. It seemed as if many people seemed to enjoy his company either way so that was always a positive aspect of all oft his.

Yet when Arthur turns on the music in the car, the assistant couldn't help but be somewhat taken aback from just the type of music that the man was listening to. He had definitely expected something rather different, like some kind of stuffy classical music or another. Instead, Alfred just smiles a bit.

"Sex Pistols? I never thought you were the kind of man to listen to them, sir."

"Do I need piercings and leather clothing to like this sort of music?" Arthur inquired, stopping at a red light. He knew that he looked like the type of person that would stick with classical music, but that was anything but true. While he did enjoy Vivaldi, Beethoven, and so on and so forth, he would always love British punk rock even more. He'd begun listening to it during his high school years and never really shook it off.

If Alfred ever looked carefully, he'd be able to see multiple small scars on Arthur's ears - direct results of pierced holes that he'd allowed to close over time. He had two tattoos as well, and though most people, if they knew, would think that Arthur would regret getting them, that wasn't exactly the case. There was a tattoo of a guitar on his hip and a pair of angel wings on his back - long story short, he'd been an anarchist, a nihilist, the worst of the worst, an utter scum who believed a good future was impossible -, never to be shown to anyone ever again. (Good thing his current taste in clothing always kept things hidden.)

But, none of that mattered. That was the side of Arthur Kirkland that had long since subdued, and he was now the workaholic CEO of Kirkland Corps. No one would have to know about his past, because it wasn't relevant anymore. He was who he was now because he'd worked hard; there wasn't any way he was going risk his accomplishments by changing anything about the way he lived life right now.

Alfred glances at Arthur in surprise at that before shaking his head, the small smile still on his lips. "I wasn't necessarily saying that, sir. I am just saying that I'm a bit surprised considering the content of music and the music seems to be targeted at the absence of government and all that like. Just surprising, I say." And well, he did have to admit that the other's clothes managed to throw him off as well along with his position. Arthur seemed to be the man farthest away from an anarchist he had ever met but maybe it was just a fascination with the music?

He had no idea but he was definitely not going to start judging because of it. While he definitely was not an anarchist, he always did enjoy his fair share of rock music though he mainly enjoyed the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. In the end, they were business partners. None of that mattered.

So he simply waits as he glances out of the window, watching the scenery pass them by. He would be forced to work soon again and as unpleasant as that was, he would just have to learn to deal with it. Alfred was certain that it wouldn't be too bad. Of course it wouldn't.

"Never judge a book by its cover, Jones," was all Arthur said in reply, and continued the rest of the drive in silence. They reached the office parking lot by the time Holidays in the Sun began playing, and the Englishman had half a mind to just stay and listen to the song finish. Nevertheless, he had work to do, so he held back a little sigh and turned off the engine before stepping out of the car.

He locked it as soon as they were both out, and began making his way up to his personal office, which naturally lay at the uppermost floor. "I don't have a cellphone available for you right now, but you'll get one tomorrow. All my work-related calls will be forwarded to that, so make sure you know how to answer them. I'll give you a list of people you absolutely must forward to me; the rest, you'll tell them to wait and ask me whether or not I want to answer the call. Understood?"

Alfred pauses for a moment before nodding in agreement at that, still smiling slightly. He really shouldn't judge Arthur for his cover. Maybe he wasn't as antisocial as he believed him to be. That would be rather nice though he wasn't going to make assumptions until he actually worked with the man for quite a while. Soon steps out of the car as well and follows his boss back into his personal office. Why did his office have to be all the way at the top? Why couldn't it just…be conveniently located on the bottom or something?

Just nods once more and thinks. "Of course, sir. Are you going to give me the list tomorrow with the phone or will you give it to me by today?" Questions curiously as he waits for the man to open the door to his office. He still didn't have the keys though he was already starting to oddly feel rather comfortable with the other man. Maybe this job wouldn't be as bad as others rumoured it to be.

"I'll give you the list today, so you can get more familiar with the numbers," Arthur replied, patiently waiting as the elavator took them higher and higher. "You do have experience with handling calls, don't you? If not, then you'll have to take some time today to learn; it's imperative that you don't mess up any of these calls."

Of course, just in case, Arthur would give him only the unimportant numbers to handle first, and then give him the more important ones later, when he was certain that Alfred could handle it all. In all honesty, he was just a little excited; not because of Alfred in particular, of course, but because he finally had someone to help him with his work. Having an assistant meant having more free time, which really translated into having more time to sleep and read.

(Oh God; this also meant he had more time to catch up on Doctor Who and The Office!)

Alfred simply nods and hums a bit. "Of course, sir." He murmurs, a small smile on his lips. "Though I already know how to handle calls." He talked on the phone all the time! Of course he knew how to handle calls, probably even better than his own boss. He would make sure not to disappoint the other and to at least give him even more free time than before. That was why assistants were here. Right?

He would make damn sure to make himself indispensable as an assistant. Most definitely.

Alfred soon goes into Arthur's personal office as he sits down at his own desk, waiting for the list as he starts writing more on the post-it notes. He can't help but smile a bit to himself as he just looks down at some of the events that were posted on there, crossing out one event before grabbing post-it notes. He would be the best assistant out there because he needed to repay his damn debt to a certain Chinese man and this was going to be one of the best job offers he would be able to get right out of college. Alfred truly was a fortunate man.

"Good," Arthur replied, honestly thankful that he didn't need to take the time to teach the lad. He'd still make Alfred handle the unimportant calls within his own company first, of course, but hopefully, that wouldn't take too long.

Once they reached his office, Arthur went to his desk and found a list of phone numbers and names. After glancing over it to make sure it was the correct one, he held it out for Alfred to come and take. "Here," he said, attention already moving on to his computer. Arthur started the machine up, waiting patiently for everything to load before checking the emails he received during the time he was gone.

Christ, these people...

"Call Jennifer Stein on that list, and tell her that her department is going to be merged after all. She's going to be allowed to keep 40-- no, 35 people," Arthur instructed, frowning as he read through the email. "Introduce yourself, and say you're my new assistant before relaying the message."

Giving his boss a small salute, Alfred just takes the list of phone numbers and names before bringing it to the copier so he could make a few extra copies for himself. Soon he tapes them on his desk and simply nods. He was efficient at times and while this may not always be the case at his home…he really didn't care about the state that he was living in. Yet he needed to remain organised and neat simply for Arthur, to impress his boss.

Looking over at Arthur for a moment, he simply gives a wide smile. "Of course, sir!" He chirps pleasantly before locating Jennifer Stein on the list. Quickly pressing his finger against the number, he soon dials in the number and waits for the mobile to pick up. When it does, he glances over at Arthur for a moment before smiling.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Stein. My name is Alfred Jones, Arthur Kirkland's new assistant." He smiles a bit as he hears her greeting back. "Pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Stein. I simply have called to tell you that your department is going to be merged and that you will be allowed to only keep thirty-five people. Yes, m'am. Thank you very much. Have a great day, good bye." And with that, Alfred hangs up the phone, smiling in the meanwhile.

"So, sir. How was that?" He questions with an raised eyebrow.

For a brief moment, Arthur looked up from his work to see Alfred first make copies, and then call Jennifer to do exactly as he was ordered to do. His assistant was so damn efficient that Arthur could hear the opening tunes of The Office already. It was a great feeling, and the CEO found himself in a significantly better mood as he moved on to replying to a rather important email regarding his company's gross income.

"It wasn't too bad," Arthur replied, though what he really meant by that was, 'holy shit, it was fucking brilliant, Jones; it hasn't been a full day yet and you've proven yourself to be a far more capable assistant than your good-for-nothing predecessors'. (That just went to show the quality of his previous assistants, though. Was it that difficult to find someone who didn't fumble or stutter, or someone that just didn't seem so damn afraid of him?)

"Just work on growing familiar with those names," Arthur continued, and then paused when his gaze landed in his cup of tea. It was two-thirds empty and very, very cold. "...And make me some more tea."

Alfred seems pretty damn pleased with the somewhat compliment, though he had no idea what the real implications were. Instead, he simply grins at his boss and hums pleasantly. Any compliment was still a compliment in his eyes and nothing could truly bring his mood down. Possibly one of the reasons why he wasn't nervous or fumble or even stutter was because well, in all honesty, he was much too confident for his own good. Barely anyone could make him stutter or quake in his boots or anything along those lines.

When he hears the direction, he simply nods and walks over to the desk to pick up the cup of tea before giving a small wink to his boss. Just out of cheerfulness, nothing suggestive of course before turning away to go outside. "Of course, sir! One steaming hot tea coming right up!" He calls out before going to make the tea just exactly how the other wanted it. Which included the right measurement of tea leaves, boiling it just right, pouring the tea after the milk along with the two sugar cubes stirred in well.

Alfred soon comes back and places the cup of tea on the desk, then soon heads back towards his own desk to start growing familiar with the names presented on the list.

Arthur froze, eyes growing slightly wide and fingers immediately stopping to hover above the keyboard mid-type. Did Alfred... Did his assistant just wink at him? ...No, no, he couldn't have-- or, he did, because Arthur was sure that he saw it, but maybe-- no, it was a trick of the light. Alfred was proving himself to be a fine assistant so far; he wouldn't just blatantly try to do something like that and risk losing his job so early on. So, with a shake of his head, the CEO continued his work.

"Thank you," he said, when Alfred finally came to him with the tea. He kept his eyes on the screen as he took the cup and tried a sip, noting that Alfred made it correctly this time. Unfortunately, it still somehow managed to taste like shit. Oh well; the lad would just get better with practice... Hopefully.

It wasn't until Arthur was done writing the email that he remembered something rather important. "Make an email account, just for work-related purposes. It'll be easier for me to forward some documents that I want you to look over or print."

Post by Assistant Jones Sun May 08, 2011 10:12 pm

Alfred doesn't seem to notice the sudden shock from Arthur and instead goes on his merry way. Honestly, he didn't see the problem with winking. It wasn't as if he was suggesting something or another. Like hell he would do that! His boss was the last person he wanted to hit on, especially when he just met the man. It wouldn't be all that great either if he ended up getting fired so early on just because of miscommunication or another.

While he was still trying his best to make the tea, he still lacked the real knowledge on how to make a wonderful cup of tea. He would just search on Google or something so he could find a good way to make a 'proper cup of English tea'. Then Arthur would definitely have to love it…right? Even if it meant he had to buy some extra equipment, he was fine with that. He just wanted to impress his boss in every way he could.

Soon he goes over to his computer and smiles a bit at Arthur. A variety of possible addresses were running through his mind and there was just so much he could put down! So going onto an email site, he thinks before starting to put in random email addresses such as: starzandstripez4eva, starsandstripesforever, a few keyboard smash entries, i'minanoffice (based off of the "I'm On a Boat". Yes, he was creative), and theAlfrednator. Yet he couldn't sigh when he finds all those names taken. Dammit, his stroke of genius was starting to wither away.

So sadly enough, he types in a standard, boring email address consisting of his last name, first, and just it was boring. Ugh. Yet despite this, he creates the account and writes it down on a post-it note before sticking it to his boss's desk before smiling slightly. "Here is my email address." And with that, he goes back to his email to at least spice it up just a bit with the background.

Arthur glanced at the email, and nodded in approval. Last name, first name. Clean, to the point, professional. Absolutely perfect. (Of course Alfred wouldn't wink at him; the lad was too professional, and Arthur was... Arthur.)

"I'll forward you some documents that I want you to look over; read through all of it and make are there are no disagreeable terms. Kirkland Corps is to be subjected to no extra fees, or grant any extensions of any kind," he said, glancing at Alfred's email again before typing it in, and forwarding him three documents. They were long, and probably would take him the rest of his shift to complete. "Oh, and make sure it's listed that they agree to give me a status update every three days. No more, but less will be fine."

Arthur then redirected his attention to his emails again, reading through them carefully as he sipped his tea. He was just about done with one email - just an update from one of his brothers on the status of the company's branch in Scotland - when his phone rang briefly. With a frown, he picked it up and read through the little alert. Dow Jones had gone down. Again. Well shit.

Alfred just smiles a bit as he sees Arthur's reaction. At least there was no look of disapproval, though he could not imagine why the hell there wouldn't be. Honestly, the email address was so bland that it only tempted him to fall asleep. Instead, the assistant simply nods in agreement and straightens out his tie a bit before replying.

"Of course, sir. Right away."

And with that, he goes back to his desk so he could start doing his job. Opening his email, he grimaces slightly to himself as he notices the there documents that were forwarded to him. Great. With that, he starts to read them carefully as he lightly taps the desk with his fingers. Truthfully, sometimes some of Arthur's words just bounced from his head but he just simply had to recall business school to understand what the man was saying. So he does his task, which takes up most of his very, very long shift.

Hell, this was going to be a very long and very tedious job if it was going to go like this. Alfred barely remembers to cover his mouth as he lets out a long yawn before rubbing his eyes lightly.

Arthur busied himself with handling phone calls for the remainder of the day. Some were to different divisions of his company while others were with the CEOs of other companies, but they were all handled with the same level of strict professionalism. He didn't take any breaks, and only stopped the calls to start making excel spreadsheets for a presentation he was due to give rather soon. Obviously, being a CEO was not fun, nor was it easy.

Despite how busy he was, Arthur didn't miss sight of the time. As soon as the hour hand hit seven, he said, "You're free to go, Jones. Remember to get here by six o' clock in the morning tomorrow. You did well for your first day."

He then went back to work, stopping his calls for tonight and now moving on to perfecting his slides and some data compilation about his company. He really hated the work that came with buying a smaller company, but... since it would help his revenues by a substantial amount, it was something that he just couldn't overlook. With a sigh, he massaged his temples, glaring at the 23rd slide for a brief moment before diving back to work again.

Post by Assistant Jones Wed May 11, 2011 12:51 pm

Alfred was quickly able to deduce that well, this job was going to be horribly, horribly boring if it continued on like this. With this mindless, exhausting, boring work that dragged on for hours and hours. Just looking at the other man though, he couldn't help but truly wonder how long he had been doing this. To find this to be normal, to not be horribly exhausted with all of the work.

How long did it take Arthur to complete his work without an assistant? Just how many assistants did his CEO go through and would he be able to last for just a bit longer than them? At least a few months would be ideal, if he could get through a few months, then he would be much better off. Yet he hoped that Mr. Kirkland wouldn't feel the need to fire him at that time and he vowed to himself that he would be a wonderful assistant. The most wonderful Arthur ever had the pleasure of having!

As soon as his shift was done, the assistant glances at the clock to see that indeed it was done. It seemed like a week passed by as he just sat in front of the computer and read. While he always did enjoy his time in front of the computer, the act of not playing games like Robot Unicorn Attack all in the meanwhile was rather disheartening. Alfred almost jumps out of his seat to run out of the office, but instead the American smiles his ever bright smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Kirkland but I should finish what I was doing before I leave." And resigning himself to his fate, Alfred finishes the rest of his task, making certain that everything was crisp and perfect (perfect according to his opinion) before finally standing up. It took a half an hour of work, but he felt a burst of achievement run through him as he finally tugs his tie a bit to loosen it.

"Have a good night, sir. I will meet you here tomorrow." And with a smile and a wave, Alfred goes out of his office and back to his apartment where after a quick dinner, he knocks out on the sofa.

The Beautiful Side of Somewhere [LOCKED TOPIC] - Page 3 Empty Re: The Beautiful Side of Somewhere [LOCKED TOPIC]

Arthur actually paused his work to look up in surprise. Alfred had made his boredom quite clear, through his expression, body language, and yawns. If he were anyone else, he would've dropped everything to go straight home. This Alfred Jones certainly was something else...

"...Very well," Arthur said, his surprise barely hidden. He went back to work as well, but couldn't resist glancing back up at Alfred every once in a while, wondering what the hell was driving the boy to work so hard. Well, he supposed it didn't matter; all that mattered was that Alfred was a good, dedicated worker, and it really didn't look like the man would be fired any time in the near future, if he kept this up.

It was a couple hours after Alfred left - 2 AM, to be precise - that Arthur finally stopped to take a break. He rose from his seat and stretched, trying to wake himself up before going to make himself some more tea. When he finished his work for the day, it was already 3. He sighed, really just wanting nothing more than to take a short nap here in his office, but knew that he really couldn't do that. He had to go back home to take a brief shower, grab a change of clothes, come back here and nap for around half an hour or so before really starting off a new day.

In other words, it was just another normal day.

Arthur finished up his tea, tidied up his office just a little bit, and spent a good five minutes looking for his keys before he exited first his office, and then the building, to do exactly as he'd planned. He was able to make it back to work after taking a shower and grabbing an apple to eat by 4, giving him just one and a half hours to sleep before he needed to get ready for the day. He reclined in his seat, lax as he closed his eyes and drifted off to a light slumber - but only after making sure his phone's alarm was set to wake him up at 5:30.

He dreamt of absolutely nothing when the alarm rang, jolting him from his sleep. With an irritated groan, he shut the alarm off, and very nearly gave into the temptation to just sleep more. The only thing that forced him to rub his eyes and reach to turn on his computer was that he had a new assistant that'd be coming in around thirty minutes, if Alfred proved himself to be a capable assistant and showed up on time.

Alfred was rather determined to make it a clear point that he was more than capable for this job. He wasn't going to let himself get fired in the first few weeks and this was a point that must be made! So he stayed longer, he couldn't settle for anything less. It was his first day at the job and he had to impress the other man and then maybe as time passed, things could hopefully get a bit more casual. When he proved himself to be an asset to the CEO.

The assistant had passed out though, for a rather long time in fact and without even remembering to set up his alarm clock, he came to notice that it was 5:30. His first instinct was simply to pass out on the couch once again but then he remembered just what he had to be awake for. 6:00…he needed to be there by 6:00! Fucking shit!

"Ah! Dammit, dammit, dammit!" Alfred yells to himself as he scrambles out of bed, slamming his knee against the coffee table. He lets out a string of curses as he grabbed another suit, took a five minute shower (yes, a new record time for himself), dabbed some cologne and fixed his hair up somewhat. Looking through his refrigerator, the American was nearly desperate to find something to eat and so he soon settles with a pack of poptarts. Grabbing the poptarts, he runs out to his car, straightening up his tie as he stumbles into the vehicle and slams on the gas pedal to get the fuck going. He takes mind though to eat his poptarts all the meanwhile and though it takes a bit of time to actually drive there, he narrowly makes it on time. Running upstairs, Alfred tries to catch his breath though he already starts to boil the water and he soon goes into the office.

"Sorry sir. I was a bit delayed by traffic but I already started to boil the water for your tea." Alfred says as he opens the door to Arthur's office.

The door to his office opened at exactly 6:04, which was actually quite impressive. Arthur nodded, eagerly awaiting his bound-to-be-shitty tea, and looked up to thank Alfred when he saw the utter mess his assistant was in. Alfred's hair was a little messier than it was yesterday, his necktie was tied terribly, and he had crumbs of little... somethings around his mouth.

Immediately, Arthur felt his lips tug into a disapproving frown. It wasn't that difficult to deduce what had probably happened. Alfred had most likely slept in, and had just barely enough time to get dressed and come to work. But, still. That was no excuse for looking like an utter slob in his office. Arthur had what, one and a half hours or sleep? And yet, he was still able to look like an utter professional.

He supposed he'd let it go, if only because this was only Alfred's second day.

"Alfred," Arthur called, beckoning his assistant over, "Come here."

Alfred knew he was a bit messy at the moment but he really was going to fix himself up when he had the time to excuse himself. Yet it seemed as if the man caught him, especially with the disapproving frown that he was sporting at the moment. The assistant simply licks some of the crumbs away and he hesitantly, very hesitantly, walks towards his boss. Did he do something wrong? Was he going to be fired just because he was somewhat sloppy this morning? He was trying his best, he really was!

Instead of showing his fear by fidgeting or looking away, the blonde assistant simply walks forward and smiles at Arthur hesitantly. "Yes, sir?" He questions as he stands in front of the other's desk. He really didn't see the point of looking too sharp, especially at this time of the morning! Honestly, barely anyone was even here and he had about a good hour until people actually started to show up. That was definitely enough time to clean himself up! Yet he keeps his complaints to himself as he just looks over at Arthur curiously, wondering what he had in mind.
